WHY MAGNESIUM?

Magnesium saves you 4 to 6 lbs on a 40mm frame. At 50mm it saves 18 to 30. That's the reason this frame exists.

A 50mm hex tent frame is what you want for wind, for multi-daily setup cycles, for a tent that lives on the road and takes abuse. The problem has always been what it costs your crew at the end of a twelve-hour day. Going to magnesium at this profile doesn't shave a few pounds off the number — it moves the tent into a different handling category. At 50 lbs, the 10x10 is only nine pounds heavier than our 40mm aluminum frame, and you're getting a full step up in profile for it.

Under load, magnesium also behaves differently than aluminum with a higher flex, creating a higher strength-to-weight ratio.

Tent FAQs

How much does the Strike 50mm Magnesium tent weigh?

The frame is 50 lbs at 10x10 and 89 lbs at 20x10. Add 13 lbs and 26 lbs respectively for the printed roof. That makes it about 25% lighter than the same frame in aluminum.

What's the difference between the 40mm and 50mm magnesium frames?

Frame profile. The 50mm uses a larger hex tube with 2.3mm walls, which means more rigidity in wind and more tolerance for repeated setup cycles. The 40mm is lighter and less expensive, and it's the only profile available in 15x10.

Is the Strike 50mm Magnesium worth the upgrade over 50mm aluminum?

It's $195 more at 10x10 and saves 18 lbs. If you set up often, travel with your tent, or load it by hand, yes. If it lives on a trailer and comes out a few times a season, the aluminum frame gets you the same profile and the same lifetime warranty for less.

Can I get the Strike 50mm Magnesium in 15x10?

No — 15x10 is available in 40mm aluminum and 40mm magnesium only. [Link both.]

Is the printing included?

Yes. Every kit includes a full-color dye sublimated 600D roof, free in-house design service, and no artwork fees.

How long will the printed graphics last?

With proper care, Strike tent graphics maintain vibrant color for 3-5+ years of regular use. Dye sublimation printing bonds the ink directly into the fabric fibers, so colors won't peel, crack, or fade as quickly as surface-printed alternatives.

Can I order replacement canopies for my existing frame?

Yes. Replacement canopies are available for all Strike tent sizes. This is a cost-effective way to refresh your graphics for a rebrand, new campaign, or seasonal promotion without purchasing an entirely new tent.

What surfaces can I set up a Strike tent on?

Strike tents work on virtually any surface. Use the included ground stakes on grass, dirt, or packed soil. For hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt, or indoor floors, use our plate weights or sand bags to secure the tent without ground penetration.
